surrounding it have existed in our communities for generations. What has changed is how openly these stories are shared, particularly through social media, where claims about wealth, traditional practices and spiritual intervention can spread quickly. But what are the implications of ukuthwala, and how do we separate cultural beliefs from fear, exploitation and harmful practices?
