Unpacking traditions that govern women in African practices

View descriptionShare

There are many rules that govern how we live. In most homesteads for example, one person takes care of burning the incense and communicates with their ancestors. That position is held by the elderly, the head of the family, or a specific person tasked with that duty. Women cannot be that person since they cannot talk to the ancestors or the god in ceremonies. We are joined by Traditional healer, Dr Mabalengwe on traditions and rules that are gender specific.
