The story of Nokuthula Simelane remains untold and incomplete because those who allegedly murdered her will not be in the dock to account.
The case was set to start on 5 October - but the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has again written to the family – suggesting that they are not ready to continue.
The family have been wanting answers since her disappearance in 1983.
Simelane disappeared while on an ANC mission to South Africa from Swaziland.
She was lured to a meeting in the underground parking of the Carlton Centre in central Johannesburg.
There she was arrested and tortured over days and weeks – until she died.
The Simelane family has over the years done everything in their power to find answers and to establish where she is buried.
At the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) hearings, five policemen applied for amnesty relating to her abduction, torture and disappearance.
Thus far, no one has come forward and taken responsibility.
Over the years the family has also continuously asked the ruling ANC for answers - but say there are none forthcoming.
And so the Simelane family is of the belief that the ANC – through the justice system – is blocking any and every attempt to establish the truth - and to bring those responsible to justice.
