The Forgotten tribe of Southern Africa

View descriptionShare

We unpack the lack of recognition that the people of Balobedu have received anf with
growing calls for Khelobedu to added as the 12th official language.

The southern African tribe and an ethnic group of the Northern Sotho group were initially known as BaKwebo (wild pigs).

The name "bolobedu" means place of tribute, go loba/lobela. With a female ruler, the Rain Queen Modjadji we unpack and go on a cultural journey as we explore the Balubedu tribe with Nzama Madzenga.
