Biko, a leader of the Black Consciousness Movement, died in police custody after being tortured. The apartheid regime had dismissed it as an accident, but the new probe aims to uncover the truth, providing closure for his family and the nation. The inquiry revisits the infamous “room 619” where Biko’s final days unfolded.
