Since 1994, the act of forgiveness and reconciliation has been central to South Africa's healing process. Reconciliation Day, now part of Reconciliation Month, encourages reflection on the progress made and the ongoing challenges in building a united, prosperous nation. As the country marks 30 years of democracy, the legacy of apartheid and colonialism still affects many.
