The Zion Christian Church (ZCC) has postponed its annual easter pilgrimage amid the Coronavirus outbreak in South Africa.

The decision comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that gatherings of more than 100 people are prohibited as a measure to curb the spread of the virus. 

The increasing number of people testing positive for Covid-19 has compelled Ramaphosa to declare it a national disaster.

Speaking to Thabiso Kotane on POWER Perspective on Tuesday, ZCC  spokesperson Emmanuel Motolla says the decision to postpone was taken after a meeting with government officials.
