Gauteng traffic police have raised alarms over a sharp rise in crashes during payday weekends, with more than 20 reported since Friday. Causes include reckless driving, speeding, and drunk driving. Fatalities occurred across Johannesburg and Pretoria, including the N1 near Winnie Mandela and the N14, where a pedestrian was killed.
