The inception of the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grant in May 2020 to help with hunger relief was the first of its kind in the history of South Africa. It has since been preventing acute hunger for more than six million people, howevever a new solution has been brought to the 09table in the name of The Universal Basic Income Guarantee, we are joined in discussion by the Chair in Social Justice at the faculty of Law, Prof Thuli Madonsela as well as the Founder of the Institute for Ecomic Justice, Neil Coleman.
