People living with disabilities—particularly women—face double the risk of gender-based violence (GBV) compared to able-bodied peers. They are uniquely vulnerable to physical, sexual, emotional, and economic abuse, often exacerbated by dependency on caregivers, social isolation, and communication barriers when seeking help.
