It is Zelensky's first visit to the African continent, and his visit comes at a time of growing competition among global powers for influence in Africa. The visit, which was abruptly cut short following a Russian airstrike on Kyiv, marks a significant move in Ukraine’s broader strategy to counter Moscow’s deepening influence in Africa.
