This year marks the 60th anniversary of the passing of one of the most influential black cultural and political figures of the 20th century, Mama Lorraine Vivian Hansberry.  Born on 19 May in 1930 in Chicago, USA, Hansberry was a respected playwright, writer, and activist who worked with, among others, the eminent black thinker W.E.D Du Bois. Thabiso Kotane speaks to Writer, Black Consciousness Activist, and someone who was influenced by the ideas of Bantu Biko, Veli Mbele.
