The Finance Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for the City of Johannesburg, Margaret Arnolds, presented the municipality's budget for the 2025/26 financial year earlier today. The budget totals R89.4 billion and is fully funded. It includes projected operating revenue of R84.8 billion and operating expenditure of R80.7 billion, resulting in a projected surplus of R4.1 billion before taxation and capital grants.
