Vast swathes of highway between Johannesburg and the OR Tambo International Airport are dark at night because the streetlights do not work. News24 measured 15km of road on busy airport routes, including the M2, N3 and N12, which are pitch black at night, posing a potential threat to residents and visitors who must also run a gauntlet of potholes and pedestrians walking along the highways.  Thabiso Kotane speaks to SANRAL's Electrical Engineer, Sipho Ncedana.
