Higher Education Minister Nobuhle Nkabane has retracted the recent appointments of board chairs at the Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETA) due to public concerns about the selection process. This decision follows widespread criticism regarding alleged nepotism and a lack of transparency. Those initially appointed included Buyambo Mantashe, the son of ANC National Chair and Cabinet member Gwede Mantashe; former KwaZulu-Natal premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube; and Loyiso Masuku, the ANC Johannesburg deputy regional secretary. Thabiso Kotane speaks to Member of the Portfolio Committee on Higher Education, Sihle Lonzi.
