ANALYSIS - SA's unemployment rate rises to 32.9%

South Africa’s unemployment rate has increased to 32.9% in the first quarter of 2025 from 31.9% in the fourth quarter of 2024. This is a one percentage point increase in the unemployment rate. Statistics South Africa announced the Quarterly Labour Force Survey earlier today. It said that 291,000 more people were without work in the first quarter.  Thabiso Kotame speaks to Labour Analyst, Terry Bell.
