Consumer inflation increased slightly in April, rising to 2.8% from 2.7% in March, as announced by Statistics South Africa earlier today. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) went up by 0.3% month-on-month, primarily due to significant rises in the prices of meat, cooking oil, margarine, and coffee.
