The participation of women in the agricultural sector has always been low compared to that of men. This has largely been due to challenges with land ownership, access to financial schemes to support their Agri-businesses and low participation in trainings. When the AGCO Future Farm in Zambia was conceptualised, our aim was to be a catalyst in the development of a sustainable and prosperous agricultural industry on the continent, with innovative solutions built around the needs of African farmers.
Speaking on POWER Business with Tumisang Ndlovu, AGCO Zambia future farms senior manager Alongo Chitengi explains the importance of women participation in this male-dominated industry.
