The Constitutional Court has dismissed the Competition Commission’s appeal in the
long-running rand-rigging case, effectively clearing major local banks including
Standard Bank, Nedbank and FirstRand of the collusion allegations.
The case, which dates back to 2015, involved claims of foreign exchange
manipulation between 2007 and 2013.
