The local unit of the world’s number two steelmaker posted a headline loss per share of R1.70 in the year to 31 December, versus headline earnings per share of R2.34 the previous year and has agreed to defer winding down its long steel business by six months. The group's headline loss of R1.9 billion for the past year was larger than its R1.4 billion market value.
