The Department of Social Development has deregistered more than 6,000 non-profit organisations for failing to submit annual reports, a legal requirement under the Nonprofit Organisations Act. This action is part of a broader initiative in which over 41,000 non-compliance notices have been issued to NPOs nationwide. In total, more than 200,000 organisations risk deregistration.
