SANDF cuts 'wasteful' R2.6bn Cuban medical training programme

The SA National Defence Force’s costly flirtation with Cuba, which has already cost
taxpayers R2.6 billion, is nearing its end. City Press has learnt that the SA Military Health Service (SAMHS) has decided not to send additional medical students to Cuba. However, students already there will be allowed to complete their Cuban medical courses. Thabiso Tema is in conversation with Siphiwe Dlamini, spokesperson for the SANDF.
