A "gold rush" has been ignited in the Payneville informal settlement near Springs, as hundreds of residents descend on a local kraal armed with spades and high hopes. The frenzy began last Monday following rumours that a community member discovered gold particles on the property. Thabiso Tema spoke to Councillor Dean Stone from the DA and Phakamile Mbengeshe Head of Department (HOD) for Communications, Marketing, and Tourism for the City of Ekurhuleni.
