50 National Treasury has today released an Annual Report on non-compliance with payment of suppliers’ invoices within 30 days. The report, compiled from exception reports submitted to National Treasury by national and provincial government departments, shows an overall regression in the number of invoices not paid within 30 days by national and provincial departments in the 2023/24 financial year. The investigation came after a complaint by BOSA leader, Mmusi Maimane in 2020, alleging that the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development constructed the school on an old sewer line and without conducting a wetland study. PUBLIC PROTECTOR RELEASES INVESTIGATION FINDINGS

The Commission for Employment Equity has expressed concern regarding SA’s transformation in the labour market, noting the exclusion of people with disabilities in top management positions.

The commission’s 24th report indicates that employees with disabilities have a low representation at the top management level. Only 1.8% of top management is made up of employees with disabilities and significant efforts are still needed to enhance their representation both within government and the private sector at this level. Morio Sanyane speaks to Employment Equity Director, Ntsoaki Mamashala.
