The Companies Tribunal is an entity of the dtic, established in terms of section 193 of the Companies Act, No. 71 of 2008 (Act). It has jurisdiction throughout the Republic of South Africa. It exercises its functions in accordance with the Act, and performs its functions fairly and without fear, favor or prejudice in a transparent manner.



The Companies Tribunal exists to provide speedy resolution of company disputes for free. The Minister of the dtic appoints members of the Companies Tribunal. Thabiso Tema is in conversation with Judge Dennis Davis, Chairperson of the Companies Tribunal.
