Joburg residents faced a challenging long weekend without water, but the situation worsened due to acts of vandalism, theft, and attacks on water employees, causing further delays in restoration efforts for the Joburg water outage. Bulk water supplier Rand Water and distributor Johannesburg Water provided updates on Tuesday regarding their weekend maintenance operations. However, restoration timelines have been negatively impacted by multiple criminal incidents, extending the Joburg water outage. Johannesburg Water reported cases of vandalism, theft, and assault against their employees and contractors during the ongoing Joburg water outage.
