The vast nation of 1.3 billion people recorded 349,691 on Sunday, with a total of 16.96 million cases, including 192,311 deaths.

The United States has imposed sanctions on the Rwandan military and four of its senior officials, citing "direct operational support" for the M23 rebel group.
