Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) is rampant in South Africa, spanning across ages, in urban and rural areas, across all communities, genders, classes and all forms of social markers, and in both private and public spheres. Additionally, according to the latest crime statistics, a rape is reported very 12 minutes in SA. In the past year 1 116 children were killed and 1 501 were victims of attempted murder, while 25 196 children were seriously assaulted, and the conviction rate is minimal.
