With a cloud still hanging over his head from his disastrous reign at SABC, Hlaudi Motsoeneng is confident his African Content Movement party will improve on its 2019 performance. As the country moves towards the 2024 general elections, former SABC chief operating officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng says it is important for him to keep his eyes on the prize as he had intensified his campaign for becoming Free State’s next premier, although he also mentioned he was aiming to become a Member of Parliament in the National Assembly.

Briefing the media, he addressed what he saw as a long overdue need to replace and outdated Citizenship Act as well as enact proposed changes to existing legislation. Morio Sanyane spoke to him about the White Paper.

The Labour party says it will launch an application to the Constitutional Court seeking to set aside the electoral timetable and a postponement of the May 29 elections.On Monday, the Electoral court dismissed the party’s application to review the decision of the Electoral Commission not to reopen the portal for submissions. The deadline for the submissions of the candidate list was March 8th. Some parties allege that they were unable to comply with the deadline due to alleged glitches with the IEC’s online portal. Morio Sanyane spoke to leader of the party, Joseph Mathunjwa.
