We unpacked growing concerns from residents in the Lesedi Local Municipality in Heidelberg who are beneficiaries of the Ikageleng Land Release Programme — also known as the Rapid Land Release Programme (RLRP). At the centre of the dispute are allegations that government-promised free building plans have not been provided, leaving many beneficiaries unable to begin construction on their allocated serviced sites. The beneficiaries lodged a complaint to the South African Human Right.
