The Council for Medical Schemes is initiating a probe into the conduct of medical aids accused of racial discrimination as well as intimidation. Black private medical practitioners say they are struggling to get paid for services they provide to medical aid clients and believe the difficulty may be because of racism. Several medical aid schemes, including Medscheme and Discovery, have been embroiled in the allegations. POWER Breakfast speaks to Dr Sipho Kabane, acting chief executive and registrar at the Council for Medical Schemes.
