Close to 200 000 spaces are available at the country’s 26 universities for first-year students, according to data released on Friday by Universities SA, an umbrella body representing these institutions.This followed the release of the 2022 National Senior Certificate (NSC) matric results by Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga y. Many young people are having to make tough decisions about what to do next given the unfortunate state of the economy and the limited space available at universities and colleges.
