Arts in the regions are alive and thriving as I found when I dropped into the Mulga Lands Art Gallery in Charleville. The Flying Arts Alliance has supported artists in the bush for 50 years and this year’s awards exhibition was opened over the weekend. The 2020 theme was ‘decadence’ explored in the artists medium- both in the times of plenty and in times of shortage. The awards are highly respected and the winning works will tour the Qld regional galleries. Chanel Lucas, formerly of Women in Docs, guided me through the gallery and this years touring exhibition.
