Pat and his dog Duke are playing in the Outback Queensland Masters Golf tournament. 160 golfers are playing at six clubs in western Queensland over six weeks culminating in the Million Dollar Hole in One in Longreach at the end of July. Duke is a three year old Smithfield, who has been on the golf course with Pat since he was just a pup. Bred as a yard dog and excellent with bulls, Duke knows the etiquette of golf and never chases golf bulls and wouldn’t dream of barking while Pat is putting. Pat loves the land an grew up on a soldier settler block in NSW, granted to his dad, who was a POW in Changi. Pat says Duke is a bit like his dad, a calming influence!
