Pop Heads Songbooks Ep7 - George Harrison

View descriptionShare

One of George's first songs is covered by The Hollies in 1965. If I Needed Someone is followed by Little Junior Parker covering Taxman. Jane and Roddy both love While My Guitar Gently Weeps so Roddy searched around and finally drops the needle on The Jeff Healey Band's version.

Shirley Bassey's Something is not to be missed, along with Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel doing Here Comes the Sun.

Jane and Roddy remind us of just some of George's contributions in the Beatle years through to his solo career. Billy Preston's gospel version of My Sweet Lord is first up, with Roberta Flack's Isn't It a Pity.

Drop out and Tune in to the Pop Heads Hour of Power with Jane Arakawa and Roddy Lee in the Vault of Vinyl every Monday at 6pm on Sydney's FM99.3 Northside Radio.
