Pop Heads Ep6 Downunder in the 80s - 1985

Episode 2 will once again focus on First Recordings, but not the Hit Versions of songs released between 1946 through 1966 and includes the first recording of (Get your Kicks on) ROUTE 66, That's Alright, Hound Dog, Rock Around The Clock, and so many of the very early rock'n roll classics. Roddy and Jane then move into the early 60s with the first recordings of Twist & Shout, It's In His Kiss, Needle In a Haystack and the first recording of SORROW released by The McCoys in October 1965 (way before David Bowie's release in '73).

For the final episode in this Pop Heads Series, Jane and Roddy take their seats in Newport, Isle of Wight, off Southampton in the UK, for The Cure performing Let's Go To Bed and The Walk at the 2011 Bestival.

Travelling back in time to 1985 in the UK (cos the Vault of Vinyl can do that seamlessly), The Style Council take the stage followed by Led Zeppelin 'Live'. Dolly Parton's cover of Stairway to Heaven should not be missed and That's All by Genesis at Wembley was not missed by 90,000 concert goers.

Midnight Oil are headliners for this final episode and give this LIVE & LOUD! series extra meaning when they played Goat Island in Sydney Harbour on January 1985.
