What’s the plan for managing COVID-19 in childcare?

View descriptionShare

So far around the country, more than 17 million people have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

That number doesn’t include young children, and while the medical regulator is considering vaccines for five to 11-year-olds, our youngest are unlikely to get vaccinated anytime soon.

While there are plans on managing COVID-19 in settings including aged care facilities, hospitals and schools, there’s no such national plan for dealing with the virus in childcare centres.

Today on Please Explain, political reporter Katina Curtis joins Rachel Clun to discuss what is and isn’t happening to keep COVID-19 out of childcare.
