In the past day, Australia recorded 151 new cases of coronavirus. Of that number, 149 were in Victoria where Premier Daniel Andrews is trying to extend the ‘state of emergency’ powers by 12 months.
Over the same period, The United Kingdom reported 1184 new cases of COVID-19. And although new infections continue to climb, many of the UK’s restrictions are loosening with more European countries added to their ‘safe’ travel list each day.
In this episode, Sunday Age editor David King is joined by Europe correspondent Bevan Shields to discuss the very different realities for Melburnians and Londoners in the COVID-19 pandemic.
