Is Australia on the precipice of another national coronavirus outbreak?

View descriptionShare

Sunday was a watershed day in Australia’s pandemic recovery: cases of community transmission were recorded in four states. It’s the first time so many jurisdictions have recorded community transmission in months.

As Greater Sydney continued its two-week lockdown, parts of the Northern Territory entered a snap lockdown and Perth introduced new rules after cases were detected there. Queensland also recorded additional cases of community transmission. Several states have closed their borders.

Today on Please Explain, federal health reporter Rachel Clun joins Nathanael Cooper to discuss the border-jumping coronavirus outbreak.
