The media is responsible for holding politicians to account and ensuring the public is fully informed about the decisions the government is making. In the lead up to May 21, when Australia heads to the polls, the role the media plays only becomes more important.

But how do journalists and editors decide what to cover and what to skip? How do we address bias? And are we looking for gotcha moments or are we looking to investigate the policies that each major party is bringing to the election?
