Are floods the new normal?

View descriptionShare

Floods in Victoria have swamped or cut off almost 35,000 homes, resulting in deaths and people going missing.

Towns like Echuca, Mooroopna, Nagambie, Rochester and Shepparton have been inundated.

Sixty alerts have been issued and the state has seen some of the biggest evacuation efforts in its history.

Today on Please Explain, environment reporter at The Age Miki Perkins joins Chris Zappone to discuss the flood crisis that has no end in sight.
