Sunday, March 8, 2026: From Visions Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton, Watkins Glen faced Windsor in the Section IV Class B boys basketball championship. The teams traded buckets through the first three quarters, but a late surge from the Lake Hawks gave them a nine-point lead entering the fourth. The Black Knights battled back, forced costly turnovers in the final minute, and took the lead late to secure a 58-56 win, claiming their first sectional title since 1999

Saturday, March 7, 2026: From The Rink in Lansing, Ithaca faced Pittsford with a trip to the New York State semifinals on the line. After a scoreless first period, the Panthers turned up the pressure, scoring four goals over the final two periods en route to a 4-0 victory and a trip to Buffalo for the state final four.

Friday, February 6  Nolyn Proudfoot drops 48 points to help Corning defeat Ithaca 90-68. The Hawks have now won their second straight Section IV Class AAA title.  

Wednesday, March 4, 2026: Union Springs and Elmira Notre Dame faced off in the Section IV Class C semifinals at Tompkins Cortland Community College, with a trip to the championship on the line. The Crusaders held an eight-point lead at the half and withstood a furious Union Springs comeback to earn a 56-48 victory, reaching the sectional championship for the first time since 2017.

Wednesday, March 4, 2026: Union Springs and Bainbridge-Guilford faced off in the Section IV Class C semifinals at Tompkins Cortland Community College, with a trip to the championship on the line. After a back-and-forth game, an 8-0 Wolves run to start the fourth - led by Jennie Daum’s 17 points - sealed a 44-36 win, sending Union Springs to the sectional championship.

Sunday, March 1, 2026: From The Rink in Lansing, Ithaca faced Broome County in the Section IV Boys Hockey Championship. The Little Red struck late in the first period and never looked back, piling up goals in a 6–0 victory over the Bulls to punch their ticket to the regional round of the New York State Tournament.

Saturday, February 28 The Little Red needed to get off to a fast start in this one and they did just that outscoring Elmira 21-14 in the first quarter. After that Ithaca protected their lead, in part to Vaughn Bailey's 21 point performance, to defeat Elmira 77-62. 

Friday, February 27 After a very low scoring first half, Rachel Vickio helped the Lake Hawks get into a groove on offense scoring 13 points on the night. Her performance propelled Watkins Glen to a 39-28 victory. 

Wednesday, February 25, 2026: From Moravia High School, the Blue Devils hosted Newfield in the opening round of the Section IV Class C boys basketball tournament. The teams traded baskets early, with the Trojans holding a one-point lead after the first quarter, but the Blue Devils surged in the second and never looked back, rolling to a convincing 84–50 win to advance to the sectional quarterfinals at Delhi on Saturday.

Tuesday. February 24 Groton could not have started any better after shutting out Trumansburg 17-0 in the first quarter. After that the Red Hawks stayed in control and won the game 51-29. Violet Santspree was the primary offensive threat scoring 19 points in the game. 

Friday, February 20, 2026: From Tompkins Cortland Community College in Dryden, Union Springs faced Candor for the IAC Small School Girls Basketball Championship. The Wolves took control early and never looked back, cruising to a 69–47 victory to claim the title behind 24-point performances from Jennie Daum and Maddie Kalet.

Friday, February 20, 2026: From Tompkins Cortland Community College in Dryden, Union Springs faced Candor for the IAC Small School Boys Basketball Championship. The Wolves came out of the gate storming, leading by 15 points after the first eight minutes and held off a ferocious Candor comeback, to win the title 71-60 behind Cooper DeChick's 27 point night.

Thursday, February 19, 2026: Trumansburg and Elmira Notre Dame boys basketball squared off Thursday night at Tompkins Cortland Community College for the IAC Large School Championships. The Blue Raiders came out on top in an unexpected defensive battle, winning 59-45. The game was within single digits for Elmira Notre Dame, but in the fourth quarter the Blue Raiders pulled away thanks to Arlo Peake's 22-point performance. 

Thursday, February 19, 2026: IAC championship basketball was back in full swing at Tompkins Cortland Community College on Thursday night, beginning with Watkins Glen and Lansing for the girls Large School title game. The Lake Hawks jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter and rode that all the way to the end of the game winning 54-25. Olivia King led the Lake Hawks with 16 points.

Tuesday, February 17 After three quarters of lead changes where no team lead by more than five points, Union Springs pulled away in the fourth quarter winning 61-53. Rocco Testa and Nevin Brown combined to score 43 points for the Wolves contributing to the team's win and first division title since 2018. 

Friday, February 13, 2026: Under the lights at Cass Park, Ithaca squared off with Gates Chili Central School District in a hard-fought Friday night showdown. The visiting Spartans struck first, finding the back of the net less than two minutes into the contest, but the Little Red answered with resilience. Ithaca clawed its way back behind a clutch game-tying goal from Griffin Levine with under seven minutes remaining. After a scoreless overtime period, the Little Red and Spartans skated away with a 2-2 tie.

Thursday, February 12 After a competitive first quarter, Trumansburg outscored Lansing 19-3 in the second. From that point on Trumansburg kept their lead winning the game 55-29 at the final buzzer. Emmett Asbrand was the point leader for the Raiders dropping 18 points. 

Wednesday, February 11 The Coyotes jumped out to an early lead in the first half before the Grizzlies stormed back in the third quarter. From that point on it was a nail biter. It took two overtime periods to decide the game, but in the end Candor came out on top 65-64. 

Watkins Glen defeats Newark Valley 34-21 in a defensive showdown. The Lake Hawks started to pull away in the second quarter and maintained their lead from that point on thanks to Olivia King's 11 point effort. 

In a clash of kings between two 14-2 teams the Moravia Blue Devils come out on top winning 58-57. Moravia jumped out to an early lead and held it until the final buzzer thanks to their lead scorer Zach Szachta who ended the night with 14 points. 

Wednesday, February 4, 2026  The Ithaca Little Red celebrate their senior night with a come back win against the Johnson City Wildcats. Ithaca's lead scorer Jasmir Robbins dropped 20 points to help the team erase a 15 point deficit and win 81-62. 

Tuesday, February 3, 2026: In this IAC rivalry Moravia continued their win streak in dominant fashion by a final score of 74-36. The Blue Devils were fueled by Zach Szachta's eight three-pointers and 26 total points. The team now improves to a 14-2 record while Groton suffers their seventh loss of the season and are still looking for a spot in the sectional tournament. 

Friday January 30, 2026: This was a back and forth IAC matchup between Lansing and Watkins Glen. In a tight, hard-fought battle, the game came down to the final possession, but the Lake Hawks held on to come out on top 56-55 on the road.

Thursday, January 29, 2026: A Section IV crossover showdown in Tompkins County saw Lansing host Ithaca on Thursday night. The Bobcats raced out to a 14–3 early lead, and while the Little Red battled back over the final three quarters to close the gap, Lansing held firm down the stretch and padded things late to secure a 70–54 victory.

Wednesday, January 28, 2026: It was a Wednesday night showdown on the hardwood in the IAC Small School South as Odessa-Montour hosted Spencer-Van Etten. After a low-scoring first quarter and a back-and-forth first half, Leah Antes took over for the Grizzlies, pouring in 30 points to lead Odessa-Montour to a 42–30 win.

Thursday, January 27, 2026: From Sue France Gymnasium, Newfield hosted Southern Cayuga in an IAC showdown. The Trojans led wire-to-wire and held off a late Falcons surge to secure a 45-35 victory, powered by 36 combined points from Egypt Smith-Henderson and Emily Taylor.

Saturday, January 24, 2026: From Cass Park, Ithaca skated past Scarsdale in a Saturday matinee. Leland Walker opened the scoring less than three minutes in and finished with a pair of goals as the Little Red rolled to a 4–1 victory.

Wednesday, January 21, 2026: From The Rink in Lansing, Ithaca hosted Clinton in a league showdown. After a tight, back-and-forth battle, the Little Red broke through in the third period as Layla Paul scored the go-ahead and game-winning goal with just two minutes to play. Anya Godert added an empty-netter to seal a 3–1 win.

Friday, January 16, 2026: Senior Night at Cass Park belonged to the Little Red. Ithaca struck early in all three periods and pulled away with a strong third period to defeat Saratoga 5–2, extending its winning streak to six straight.

Tuesday, January 13, 2026: It was an IAC Large School North divisional battle on the hardwood as Dryden welcomed Trumansburg. The Blue Raiders caught fire early, ripping off a 10–0 run late in the first quarter to seize control and they never let go. Behind a red-hot shooting night, Dryden pulled away for a convincing 57–39 win over the Purple Lions.

Thursday, January 8, 2026: It was a rare Thursday night matchup on the hardwood as Trumansburg traveled to Moravia. The Blue Devils set the tone early holding a double-digit lead after the first quarter, and fending off the Blue Raiders for a wire-to-wire 57–51 victory.

Tuesday, January 6, 2025: It was a big divisional showdown in the IAC Small School North as Union Springs and Moravia squared off in a key midseason divisional matchup. A dominant second quarter gave the Wolves a sizable halftime lead. Behind 17 points from Maddy Kalet, Union Springs earned a 49–31 road win over the Blue Devils.

Friday, December 19, 2025: An early-season showdown on the hardwood saw Marathon host Groton in an IAC Small School North divisional matchup. After a low-scoring first quarter, the teams traded baskets over the final three periods, but a decisive 9-0 run by the Olympians midway through the fourth quarter proved to be the difference, lifting Marathon to its first win of the season, 44-35.

Tuesday, December 16, 2025: An early-season showdown on the hardwood turned into a convincing victory for Candor over Newfield in an IAC Small School South matchup. The Coyotes jumped out to a 24–9 lead after the first quarter and cruised to a 76–38 win over the Trojans, picking up their third victory in four games.

Friday, December 12th: At Candor Hight School, Union Springs took on Candor in thrilling triple overtime. Jakobe Foster reached 1000 career points along with his game high 39 points. After two game tying three's by Teagan Kwiatkowski, Candor wins 96 to 91.

Saturday, November 15: At Susquehanna Valley High School, Trumansburg took on Tioga for the Section Class D title. Logan Bellis finds the endzone four times for the Tigers in this lengthy, lightning delayed battle, to give Tioga the win and the title.

Friday, November 14, 2025: At Susquehanna Valley High School, Moravia took on Unatego/Franklin/GMU in the Section IV Eight-Man Football Championship. The Blue Devils and Spartans traded blows throughout the night, but Unatego found a late spark, scoring three unanswered touchdowns to pull away for a 40–20 victory and secure a spot in the New York State Eight-Man Regional Tournament.

Saturday, November 8, 2025: Under the lights at Volante Field in Dryden, Moravia faced Edison with a trip to the sectional title game on the line. Thanks to a trio of Noah Corbett touchdowns - two on the ground and a receiving score - the Blue Devils held off the Spartans 26-16 to advance to the championship game for a fourth straight season.

Saturday, November 8, 2025: From Volante Field in Dryden, the Purple Lions faced Unatego/Franklin/GMU with a trip to the sectional championship on the line. Zack Sousa got the scoring going early for the Spartans, just over two minutes and found the endzone three times, to lift Unatego to a commanding 44-6 win.

Saturday, November 1, 2025: From Sidney High School, Marathon takes on Seton Catholic for the Section IV Class C Championship. Marathon takes the lead early but the Saints march their way back to tie the game in regulation. The contest wraps in penalty kicks, with Seton Catholic advancing.

Saturday, November 1, 2025: From Sidney High School, Groton faced Elmira-Notre Dame for the Section IV Class C Girls Soccer Championship. The Red Hawks advance to the NYS Tournament off a lone goal from Jill Zigenfus.

Saturday, November 1, 2025: From Chenango Valley High School, Watkins Glen faced Chenango Forks in the Section IV Class B girls soccer championship game. The Blue Devils picked up a trio of scores from Aubrey McMullen to win their first sectional crown since 2019 and come away with a 4-1 win.

Thursday, October 30, 2025: From Waverly High School, Ithaca faced Elmira in the Section IV Class AAA boys soccer championship. After a nearly scoreless first half, the Express struck first on a rebound off a penalty kick with less than five minutes remaining, then added two more goals to secure a 3-0 victory, punching their ticket to the New York State Tournament.

Thursday, October 30, 2025: From Waverly High School, Ithaca faced Corning in the Section IV Class AAA girls soccer championship. The Little Red and Hawks battled back and forth for 80 minutes, trading chances on both ends. After two scoreless overtimes, the match ended in a 0-0 draw, making the teams co-champions. However, Ithaca’s 5-4 win in penalty kicks secured the Little Red a spot in the New York State Tournament.

Wednesday, October 29, 2025: In a thrilling Section IV Class C semifinal, the Groton Red Hawks traveled to Trumansburg for a high-stakes matchup with a trip to the title game on the line. After a tense scoreless regulation, Devyn Blasz struck early in overtime to give the Red Hawks a 1-0 victory, sending Groton into the championship for the first time in seven years.

Tuesday, October 28, 2025: With a trip to the Section IV Class C championship on the line, Trumansburg hosted Marathon in an all-IAC clash. The two teams battled to a scoreless draw through regulation and needed double overtime to decide a winner. In the end, it was Colton Oram who delivered the decisive goal, lifting the Olympians to a 1-0 victory and a spot in Saturday’s final.

Saturday, October 25, 2025: From Southern Cayuga, the Falcons hosted Groton in the Section IV Class C Girls Soccer Quarterfinals. A highly anticipated matchup lived up to the hype, as the two teams battled through 80 scoreless minutes. In overtime, Bailey Vliet delivered the decisive strike, lifting the Red Hawks to a thrilling 1-0 victory and sending Groton to the sectional semifinals.

Friday, October 24, 2025: Under the lights at Sobus Field, Lansing hosted Chenango Valley in the quarterfinals of the Section IV Class B tournament. The Warriors scored three goals in a span of less than three minutes midway through the first half and never looked back, en-route to a commanding 5-0 win over the Bobcats.

Wednesday, October 22, 2025: It was a battle of the Trojans from Cancro Field as Newfield hosted Greene in the opening round of the Section IV Class C girls soccer tournament. The home team got on the scoreboard early in the first half, but Greene connected on a late goal and a double overtime-winner to lift them to a 2-1 victory and a trip to the tournament's quarterfinals on Saturday.

Tuesday, October 21, 2025: The Section IV Class C Boys Soccer Tournament kicked off at Southern Cayuga, where the Falcons hosted the Red Hawks. Southern Cayuga struck first with just over 10 minutes remaining in the opening half and never looked back. Behind a dominant performance from Braxton Young - who netted a hat trick - the Falcons cruised to a 4-0 victory to advance in postseason play.
