Thursday June 4th: With a trip to state regionals on the line Ithaca and West Genesee faced off. Behind Keira Vrabel's six goal performance the wildcats picked up a convincing double digit 19-9 win over the Little Red. 

Wednesday June 3rd: With a trip to state regionals on the line, Ithaca hosted West Genesee in a Class A clash. The Little Red got within one goal in the first quarter, but nine unanswered goals between the second and third quarters propelled the Wildcats to a 15-5 victory. 

Tuesday, June 2, 2026: With a trip to the regional round of the New York State Tournament on the line, Trumansburg took on Beaver River at Susquehanna Valley High School. The Blue Raiders struck first with a run in the opening inning, but Beaver River responded with 14 unanswered runs over the next three frames to pull away for a 14-1 victory and advance to the next round of the Class C state tournament.

Saturday, May 30, 2026: From Horseheads High School, Ithaca faced Corning in the Section IV Class A Boys Lacrosse Championship. The Little Red trailed by three goals after three quarters, but mounted a dramatic comeback with three goals in less than 30 seconds to tie the game. With just 12 seconds remaining in regulation, Isaac Lee-Byrnes delivered the game-winner, lifting Ithaca to an 8-7 victory and its first sectional championship since 2018.

Friday, May 29, 2026: From Horseheads High School, Ithaca squared off with Corning in the Section IV Class A Championship Game. The Little Red wasted no time taking control, building a 6-2 lead after the first quarter and never looking back. Powered by a relentless offensive attack, Ithaca rolled to an 18-9 victory over the Hawks to capture its fourth consecutive sectional championship.

Thursday, May 28, 2026: With a trip to the sectional championship on the line, Union Springs hosted Southern Cayuga in an all-IAC showdown. Behind a big day at the plate from Abbi Tracy and a strong pitching performance from Paityn Delaney, the Wolves rolled to a 12-2 victory to punch their ticket to Saturday’s Section IV title game.

Wednesday, May 27, 2026: From Trumansburg High School, the top-seeded Blue Raiders hosted Union Springs with a trip to the sectional championship on the line. Willoughby Puryear was untouchable on the mound, tossing a complete-game three-hit shutout with 18 strikeouts. He also went 3-for-4 at the plate with a solo home run, helping propel the Blue Raiders to a 6-0 victory and a spot in the Section IV Championship.

Tuesday, May 26, 2026: From Moresco Stadium, Ithaca hosted Elmira in the Section IV Class A semifinals. It was a wire-to-wire victory for the Little Red, who rolled to a 13-7 win to advance to Saturday’s championship game against Corning.

Friday May 22nd 2026: Section IV Class B Baseball Tournament Quarterfinals saw the Lansing Bobcats jump out to an early 9-0 lead, including a 7 run inning in the bottom of the 5th. Dasch Benson threw 5 innings giving up 1 ER and striking out 9, and Logan Mayo closed out the final 2 innings, striking out 4, helping pave the way to a 10-1 Bobcats win. 

Thursday May 21st 2026: The Section IV Class B Tournament kicked off with a statement from Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour scoring 10 runs through the first 4 innings, going on to win 10-1. 

Wednesday, May 20th, 2026: The Section IV Baseball Tournament began with an IAC showdown as Newfield visited Marathon. The Olympians scored three runs in the second inning and never looked back, as they picked up a 7-1 win over the Trojans. 

Thursday, May 14, 2026: On a rainy evening in Watkins Glen, the Schuyler Storm hosted Lansing for the IAC Large School Softball Championship. It was a back-and-forth battle over seven innings, but thanks to Amy Field’s go-ahead two-RBI single, the Storm held off a furious Bobcats rally to capture their first Large School championship in 30 years with a 7-6 victory.

Friday, May 15, 2026: From Watkins Glen High School, Lansing faced Thomas A. Edison in the IAC Large School Baseball Championship. The Bobcats broke the game open in the second inning, while the bottom third of the order - Oscar Law, Aaeden McMillen, and Brandon McMillen - combined for four hits, five runs, and six RBIs to power Lansing to a 10-1 victory and its second title in three seasons.

Friday, May 15, 2026: From Watkins Glen High School, and for the third straight season, Union Springs faced Tioga in the IAC Small School Baseball Championship. After two scoreless innings between the Wolves and Tigers, Union Springs found its rhythm at the plate, highlighted by two-run home runs from Lucas Witter and Kevin Kinnaman, as the Wolves claimed their third consecutive conference title with a 10-2 victory.

Thursday, May 14, 2026: For the sixth straight season, Union Springs and Tioga met in the IAC Small School softball championship. Big offensive outbursts by the Wolves in the third and sixth innings, along with four-RBI performances from Abbi Tracy and Avery Koch, propelled Union Springs to its fourth title in six years with a 13-2 win over the Tigers.

Tuesday, May 12, 2026: With a spot in the IAC Championship on the line, Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour hosted Thomas A. Edison in an IAC Large School South Division tiebreaker. The Storm jumped out to a 3-0 first-inning lead and held off a late Spartans rally to earn an 8-5 win. Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour advances to face Lansing in the IAC Championship on Thursday.

Tuesday, May 5, 2026: On a cloudy, rain-soaked afternoon in Trumansburg, the Blue Raiders hosted the Schuyler Storm in an IAC baseball showdown. Both teams came out swinging, trading runs through the first two innings as the Blue Raiders held a narrow 6-5 lead. From there, it was all Trumansburg, as they rattled off nine unanswered runs to secure a 15-5 run-rule victory over the Storm.

Saturday, May 2, 2026: A key IAC Small School North divisional showdown took center stage Saturday morning as Union Springs squared off with Moravia. After both teams traded two runs in the opening inning, Asa Brown delivered a strong outing on the mound, while timely hitting powered Union Springs to a 5-3 victory.

Friday, May 1 Elmira Notre Dame/Watkins Glen ran away with the 19-4 win over Dryden after a nine goal run in the second and third quarter. Elmira Notre Dame/Watkins Glen's offense was powered by the trio of Samuel Hohle, Landon English, and Finn Schweizer who combined for 12 goals.

Thursday, April 30, 2026: On a frigid, overcast afternoon at Wells College, Southern Cayuga hosted Union Springs in a key IAC Small School North showdown. The Wolves broke things open with five runs in the third inning - capitalizing on four hits and three errors - and held on the rest of the way for a 7-4 win.

Tuesday, April 28, 2026: On an overcast afternoon, Ithaca traveled to Dryden for an intra-county matchup. The Purple Lions erupted for four runs in the first inning and never looked back, cruising to a 17-3 win over the Little Red.

Monday, April 27, 2026: On a picture-perfect afternoon, Lansing hosted Trumansburg in an IAC Large School North showdown. The Blue Raiders plated three runs in the third to grab an early lead, but the Bobcats responded in the fourth and sixth, putting pressure on the defense and capitalizing on opportunities to secure a 5-3 home win.

Friday, April 24th  This game was a pitching duel until the fifth inning where the Elmira Express scored five runs. The fifth inning, paired with a complete game with 14 strikeouts from Aedan Palmer, fueled Elmira to a 10-1 win against the Ithaca Little Red. 

Tuesday, April 21 The Little Red started the game strong and headed into halftime with a 8-2 lead over the Spartans. Maine-Endwell made things interesting in the third quarter with a four goal run, but Ithaca was able to hold on and win the game 13-7. Leland Walker lead the Little Red in scoring with four goals.  

Wednesday, April 15, 2026: From Odessa-Montour High School, the Schuyler Storm hosted the Spencer-Van Etten/Candor Eagles in an IAC Large School South showdown. After trading runs through the first three innings, the Storm held a narrow 5-4 lead before breaking it open with seven runs over the final three frames to secure a 12-4 win.

Tuesday, April 14 Ithaca scored the first goal and from then on never gave up the lead. The Little Red won 14-13 with major contributions coming from Quentin Getzin, with four goals and a dominant face-off presence, and Lee Milton who added four goals of his own. 

Friday, April 10, 2026: On a cold, rainy day in Moravia, the Blue Devils hosted Southern Cayuga in an IAC Small School North showdown. The visiting Falcons struck first with two runs in the opening inning and rode a strong performance in the circle from Ava Harvatine to secure a 6–2 victory.

Wednesday, April 8, 2026: From Ross Field in Groton, the Red Hawks hosted Marathon for a doubleheader in an IAC Small School North showdown. The Olympians' offense came out firing on all cylinders, as they picked up two big wins against the home team, 18-6 and 14-13.

Thursday, April 2  Ava Fontaine and Brynna Walsh each score hat tricks for their respective teams but in the end Ithaca comes out on top 7-5 in part to Sage Bliss who tallied two goals for the Little Red. 

Monday, March 30, 2026: It was a Monday matinee from Gutchess Lumber Sports Complex as Marathon and Newfield squared off in a midday showdown. Both teams scored in the first, and Newfield took a 3-1 lead with a two-run fourth. But Marathon’s offense exploded in the fifth, highlighted by Blake Birdsall’s bases-clearing, three-RBI triple, lifting the Olympians to a 7-4 win.

Sunday, March 8, 2026: From Visions Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton, Watkins Glen faced Windsor in the Section IV Class B boys basketball championship. The teams traded buckets through the first three quarters, but a late surge from the Lake Hawks gave them a nine-point lead entering the fourth. The Black Knights battled back, forced costly turnovers in the final minute, and took the lead late to secure a 58-56 win, claiming their first sectional title since 1999

Saturday, March 7, 2026: From The Rink in Lansing, Ithaca faced Pittsford with a trip to the New York State semifinals on the line. After a scoreless first period, the Panthers turned up the pressure, scoring four goals over the final two periods en route to a 4-0 victory and a trip to Buffalo for the state final four.

Friday, February 6  Nolyn Proudfoot drops 48 points to help Corning defeat Ithaca 90-68. The Hawks have now won their second straight Section IV Class AAA title.  

Wednesday, March 4, 2026: Union Springs and Elmira Notre Dame faced off in the Section IV Class C semifinals at Tompkins Cortland Community College, with a trip to the championship on the line. The Crusaders held an eight-point lead at the half and withstood a furious Union Springs comeback to earn a 56-48 victory, reaching the sectional championship for the first time since 2017.

Wednesday, March 4, 2026: Union Springs and Bainbridge-Guilford faced off in the Section IV Class C semifinals at Tompkins Cortland Community College, with a trip to the championship on the line. After a back-and-forth game, an 8-0 Wolves run to start the fourth - led by Jennie Daum’s 17 points - sealed a 44-36 win, sending Union Springs to the sectional championship.

Sunday, March 1, 2026: From The Rink in Lansing, Ithaca faced Broome County in the Section IV Boys Hockey Championship. The Little Red struck late in the first period and never looked back, piling up goals in a 6–0 victory over the Bulls to punch their ticket to the regional round of the New York State Tournament.

Saturday, February 28 The Little Red needed to get off to a fast start in this one and they did just that outscoring Elmira 21-14 in the first quarter. After that Ithaca protected their lead, in part to Vaughn Bailey's 21 point performance, to defeat Elmira 77-62. 

Friday, February 27 After a very low scoring first half, Rachel Vickio helped the Lake Hawks get into a groove on offense scoring 13 points on the night. Her performance propelled Watkins Glen to a 39-28 victory. 

Wednesday, February 25, 2026: From Moravia High School, the Blue Devils hosted Newfield in the opening round of the Section IV Class C boys basketball tournament. The teams traded baskets early, with the Trojans holding a one-point lead after the first quarter, but the Blue Devils surged in the second and never looked back, rolling to a convincing 84–50 win to advance to the sectional quarterfinals at Delhi on Saturday.

Tuesday. February 24 Groton could not have started any better after shutting out Trumansburg 17-0 in the first quarter. After that the Red Hawks stayed in control and won the game 51-29. Violet Santspree was the primary offensive threat scoring 19 points in the game. 

Friday, February 20, 2026: From Tompkins Cortland Community College in Dryden, Union Springs faced Candor for the IAC Small School Girls Basketball Championship. The Wolves took control early and never looked back, cruising to a 69–47 victory to claim the title behind 24-point performances from Jennie Daum and Maddie Kalet.

Friday, February 20, 2026: From Tompkins Cortland Community College in Dryden, Union Springs faced Candor for the IAC Small School Boys Basketball Championship. The Wolves came out of the gate storming, leading by 15 points after the first eight minutes and held off a ferocious Candor comeback, to win the title 71-60 behind Cooper DeChick's 27 point night.

Thursday, February 19, 2026: Trumansburg and Elmira Notre Dame boys basketball squared off Thursday night at Tompkins Cortland Community College for the IAC Large School Championships. The Blue Raiders came out on top in an unexpected defensive battle, winning 59-45. The game was within single digits for Elmira Notre Dame, but in the fourth quarter the Blue Raiders pulled away thanks to Arlo Peake's 22-point performance. 

Thursday, February 19, 2026: IAC championship basketball was back in full swing at Tompkins Cortland Community College on Thursday night, beginning with Watkins Glen and Lansing for the girls Large School title game. The Lake Hawks jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter and rode that all the way to the end of the game winning 54-25. Olivia King led the Lake Hawks with 16 points.

Tuesday, February 17 After three quarters of lead changes where no team lead by more than five points, Union Springs pulled away in the fourth quarter winning 61-53. Rocco Testa and Nevin Brown combined to score 43 points for the Wolves contributing to the team's win and first division title since 2018. 

Friday, February 13, 2026: Under the lights at Cass Park, Ithaca squared off with Gates Chili Central School District in a hard-fought Friday night showdown. The visiting Spartans struck first, finding the back of the net less than two minutes into the contest, but the Little Red answered with resilience. Ithaca clawed its way back behind a clutch game-tying goal from Griffin Levine with under seven minutes remaining. After a scoreless overtime period, the Little Red and Spartans skated away with a 2-2 tie.

Thursday, February 12 After a competitive first quarter, Trumansburg outscored Lansing 19-3 in the second. From that point on Trumansburg kept their lead winning the game 55-29 at the final buzzer. Emmett Asbrand was the point leader for the Raiders dropping 18 points. 

Wednesday, February 11 The Coyotes jumped out to an early lead in the first half before the Grizzlies stormed back in the third quarter. From that point on it was a nail biter. It took two overtime periods to decide the game, but in the end Candor came out on top 65-64. 

Watkins Glen defeats Newark Valley 34-21 in a defensive showdown. The Lake Hawks started to pull away in the second quarter and maintained their lead from that point on thanks to Olivia King's 11 point effort. 

In a clash of kings between two 14-2 teams the Moravia Blue Devils come out on top winning 58-57. Moravia jumped out to an early lead and held it until the final buzzer thanks to their lead scorer Zach Szachta who ended the night with 14 points.
