Wednesday, October 15, 2025: With a trip to the IAC Championship on the line, Trumansburg and Lansing battled through 80 intense minutes in Wednesday’s Large School North division tiebreaker. Trumansburg found the equalizer with just over three minutes left to force a penalty shootout — and in the end, it was Will Foster who sealed the deal. His clutch PK gave the Blue Raiders a 5-4 shootout win and the division crown after a 3-3 draw in regulation.

Both teams scored in the first, and Newfield took a 3-1 lead with a two-run fourth. But Marathon’s offense exploded in the fifth, highlighted by Blake Birdsall’s bases-clearing, three-RBI triple, lifting the Olympians to a 7-4 win.

The teams traded buckets through the first three quarters, but a late surge from the Lake Hawks gave them a nine-point lead entering the fourth. The Black Knights battled back, forced costly turnovers in the final minute, and took the lead late to secure a 58-56 win, claiming their first sectional title since 1999
