Mmatsheko Mosito spoke to Chanel Pather, Programme Manager at SUNCASA, scaling urban nature-based solutions for climate adaptation in Sub-Saharan Africa. 

Under her leadership, the innovative Litter Traps and Art Project is turning waste into wonders along the Jukskei River in Alexandra, Johannesburg.

Through public art, community engagement, and environmental restoration, this initiative is not only addressing urban flooding and pollution, but also redefining how climate action can be locally led, socially inclusive, and artistically inspired.
