In his first budget, President Trump proposed abolishing the national Endowment of the Arts and the National Endowment of the Humanities. While congress essentially ignored that suggestion with the budget they passed - actually increasing spending on the arts and humanities - the budget year ends in September, and the issue will be coming up again soon.
