Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney made headlines in January for his speech promoting principles of collaboration beyond the typical global superpowers we've come to rely on. Mr Carney's speech at the World Economic Forum was criticised by the United States, but middle powers around the world have voiced their support including Australia. So where does that leave us? Will we reconsider the long history of following the lead of the US?
