Politico makes a false claim that Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, would become first black Supreme Court justice. In actuality, former Associate Justice Thurgood Marshall was the first black judge to serve on the Supreme Court, and current Justice Clarence Thomas has been serving since 1991. Philadelphia health officials announce that they are closely monitoring a new COVID-19 variant, and suggest masking indoors – as cases have increased more than 50% in the last 10 days. In a statement last Friday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said Title 42 will be rescinded by May 23 – but that expulsions of adults and families will continue until then. Unaccompanied migrant children have been exempt since January of 2021. The Kansas Jayhawks defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels last night, 72 – 69, to win the 2022 national championship.
