The media has already successfully laid the ground work for politicization of Hurricane Ian before it's touches down in Florida, as Chris predicted.

Crime in Philadelphia keeps getting worse with each passing day, as the city eclipses 400 homicides in 2022.  The latest violence impacts Fast Eddie's neighborhood as a 14-year old boy was killed, four other teenagers wounded in a shooting at the Roxborough High School football field.  The shooting takes place the same day Mayor Jim Kenney issues an executive order banning guns at Rec Centers in Philadelphia.

TODAY'S GUESTS

  • VICTOR FIORILLO – Senior Reporter at Philadelphia Magazine (PhillyMag.com) - @PhillyVictor |  Five students shot, one killed at the Roxborough High School Football field after a Scrimmage game; Two gunmen fired at least 70 times as they ambushed the group on the 300 block of Fairway Terrace, behind Roxborough High School, around 4:41 p.m yesterday.  Victor's latest article: This Philly Wawa Now Closes for an Hour Each Afternoon to Avoid Students (Wawa is a block from Roxborough High.)
  • JOHN MCNESBY – President of FOP Lodge 5 (FOP5.org) | @john_mcnesby | Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police endorses Mehmet Oz for U.S. Senate and Josh Shapiro for Pennsylvania Governor.  Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw did not attend the press conference following the shooting at Roxborough High School yesterday.
  • MICHAEL POON – Attorney at the Pacific Legal Foundation (PacificLegal.org) | A lawsuit seeking to block President Biden’s plan to cancel some student debt claims the policy is not only illegal but could inflict harm on borrowers in some states who would be forced to pay taxes on the forgiven amount.  The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana on Tuesday, is the first significant legal action seeking to invalidate Biden’s policy before it takes effect.  The Pacific Legal Foundation asserts that the executive branch lacks the authority to create a new forgiveness policy and is usurping Congress’s power to make law. The suit was filed on behalf of Frank Garrison, an attorney who works for the foundation and lives in Indiana. - WaPo
