John Fisher's role in the Coliseum, as Oakland sells half its ownership

View descriptionShare

Usually at this time, we'd be joined by KCBS Insider Phil Matier but Phil is away today.

The city of Oakland says it's selling it's half-ownership of the Oakland Coliseum to a local Black development group for at least $105 million dollars. The African American Sports & Entertainment Group says it's also been in talks to buy the other half, which is currently owned by Oakland A's owner John Fisher.

The group calls it a chance to revitalize East Oakland with plans for affordable housing, retail and green space, and possibly a home to another professional sports team.

For more, we're joined on the KCBS Ring Central Newsline by Former Oakland A's Executive Vice President Andy Dolich, who is the co-author of 'Goodbye Oakland'.
