We discuss vaccines for COVID-19, the latest on coronavirus, the weird and strange conspiracy theories going around, and how our current high school children need to learn how to think, not what to think. 

Written and hosted by me, Nicholas Volpe and his fiancee Lauren Mattina, they cover some of the most ridiculous science-related posts you can find on social media and discuss them before giving the real, science based facts. But, who are we to educate anyone? 

Lauren is a high school science teacher with a Master’s in Education (secondary science) and focuses on biology and Earth science. She completed her undergraduate degree at Binghamton University with a Bachelor’s in Environmental Studies. In addition to being a certified teacher in New York City, she has traveled all over assisting in conservation efforts including two month long trips to Africa, a month in Costa Rica and a week long visit to Yosemite National Park for trail restoration. 

Nick Volpe has a Master’s in Neuroscience and Bachelor’s in Biology from the City University of New York - College of Staten Island. He has worked in bench research focusing on neuropharmacology and neurotoxicology for several years and worked on animal models doing behavioral studies, immunohistochemistry, and other neurochemistry-based assays.
